ive been thinking about raising my comp. but could anyone tell me what the advantages are of using different pistons instead of milling the head? i want about a 10.5:1. would that mean i should get .040 shaved off? also would it be necesary to do anything with my timing/fuel?

Shaving the head will be much less expensive (?> $100.00 including a gasket?) because you can't put aftermarket pistons in without honing the block and changing the Rods too.(full floating pistons vs. press fit stockers)
Timing and fuel...You may need to run better gas but that should be it.
