Honda haters: Look away.

I recently discovered a Canadian driving club called "Definitive Driving" that conducts lapping days with our local driving school ProFormance. They had an open lapping day at Pacific Raceways on Monday. I'm signed up for track days on July 6 and 9, so I could not realistically add another to my schedule (due to cost -- plus trying to run 3 track days in a week might impact its operational condition for that third day). Anyway, the organizer posted some pics. Here are a few:

Amazingly, I actually like all the decal work on this Fit

There was no love for this hatchback in the U.S., but I really like this one

Echo hatchback...gotta love this at the track!

This track day must have been a riot. So many of the events are loaded with E46 M3s, GT2s, GT3s, various 997s/996s, etc. While there were some Evos and STis at this event, it was mostly small bore cars (lots of S2000s too). Whether you love or hate Hondas, it is neat to see so many little cars together.

I also was a big fan of the EP3 :) Awesome site though, if I was closer to Canada I'd be tempted to bring my future ride up there to test it out

Most of these guys live in Vancouver, BC and the surrounding townships. I live near Seattle, which is where this track event was conducted. They come down to our neighborhood a couple of times a year. They MIGHT visit again later this year, but it's doubtful.

Even with the engine choice, I still would consider an EP3, but I'm wanting to get away from the used car potential problems

haha.. well the SVT engine was better than the Si engine out of the box. And with the Si history it should have been a bit stronger.

Plus the mega tiny tires. The moral of the story is that Honda really didnt' go hard core with that Si like they should have. They made SVT look really good. Doesn't mean either would have been enough for me. And personally I'm not modding my car because I need more power. I'm just doing it because I want to. I'm stupid like that :D

I'm looking forward to the next hatch Si.

Yeah, yeah. This is the story you probably told your wife when you got the WRX AND started modding your SVTF, while loading the kart into the new truck.

"...because I want to." Works for me.

Heh.

Should a car with some high-quality graphics like that Fit have it's track numbers held on with masking tape?
haha.. he's gonna be pissed when he pulls off the masking tape and it takes paint with it.

Yes, your lack of taste is in fact amazing. :what: :p

I like the ****** with goldish rims though.
Yeah. Well, I'm not much for showy stuff myself. If my Centerline Storms weren't lightweight forged track rims, I'd have a difficult time mounting them to the car -- they're just too shiny in that polished aluminum look. I don't care for decals much in general either, but those things on the Fit seem to capture the spirit of the car's character. Kinda lighthearted and difficult to take serously. Like Honda sez: might as well "Go" with it.
