the ass ends are always sagging? do they have an air suspension or something that always goes out?

Yes, even my old 90' Chrysler New Yorker had air suspension. That had cheap plastic fitings on the air lines that broke every winter. So I said screw it and stoped fixing it 4 years ago right before I sold it. Poor things still driving around town draging its ass on the ground.

The best is when the fronts on the Mark VI or VII, I forget which one, goes bad and the thing is raked like crazy because the noise is on the ground.

You think a lowered focus is hard on the kidneys try and town car on the bump stops.

they do have air suspension in the back i believe. I kno the Vics did.

Dad's 02 VicSport had it, it was hilarious coming home from Costco and unloading it to see the height afterwords (because it adjusted to the extra weight)...Looked like a dragger

Ya as already said they had an air suspension that's known to be a costly fix, and since those cars, around here at least, belong to the older crowd or to people that don't have a very large income, the repairs get left undone thus creating a dragger

We get older people in about once a month draggin ass like that, they come in for an oil change or something and we say "did you notice the back of your car dragging?" and they are like "hmm I kinda thought it was a little low" haha. They drive like pure poo like that jumpin/bangin in the back. I dunno how anybody could not notice. Luckily most of them don't mind spending the money to get em fixed. I think there is also a large crowd that buys the cars for use in the hood and then figures out how the bags go out and never fix em. Several at our shop have been fixed off the clock with green tire slime. They never come back. Cheap fix. :D

i remember seeing that once in a wile where the bags go bad. Around here town cars are almost never driven by a private person, they are only used for limo companies/taxis/fleets, so they usually get fixed.

Also REALLY old cars are in the junk yard. the ruff roads, and winters take there toll on cars here.

Air suspension. Most people think they are expensive to fix, but many times it's just a line or connection in the rear. For some reason people shut the switch off in trunk and do that on purpose. Lifting them onto a rack before shutting off the suspension kills a couple of them as well.

It's fun to see them as demo-derby cars. I kinda miss my '92 Congressional.

There is a regular conversion to coils out there somewhere?? My uncle has a 95 Cartier who converted his. Still drives well...Like a boat! I'll have to ask him again

Now adays there are several options on fixing them. Back in the day the only way to fix them was to get factor parts.

You can switch over to regular springs, you can go aftermarket air ride, ect now.

I saw in the back of Automobile last week and add for aftermarket air ride replacements for like 1/2 the price we used to charge at the dealer.

Man I hated my 93 continental. Had all 4 air bags go out when I bought it & the car costed me 2k to fix. The only thing I liked about it was I hooked up a regulator to inside the car so I can raise & lower it whenever I wanted to. I had to get rid of it though when it stopped going in reverse and I drove it like that for the whole winter......wasnt fun.
