Since many of you have gone through this, can you advise how one can remove / replace the (especially LH) headlight on a 2005 - 2007 focus?

Specifically:

1. do I have to remove the airbox/resonator behind the headlight?
2. do I have to remove the splashguard below the bumper?
3. do I have to remove the front LH wheel? liner?

Thanks a lot

Here is a write up I found on a different site for you.
Step 1

Using a Phillips screwdriver Remove the Black plastic radiator shroud.

Step 2

With a 10mm wrench loosen the two bold hold the upper grill to the radiator frame. Then while pulling forward lift the two clips on either side of the hood latch to remove the upper grill.

Step 3

Using a 10mm wrench loosen the top two bold on the headlight assembly.

Step 4

Using a car jack lift the side of the car to lower the wheel to gain access to wheel well shroud.

Step 5

Loosen and pull wheel well shroud back using a 8mm wrench and torx bit or allen wrench.

Step 6

Using a 10mm wrench loosen and remove the third and final bolt holding the headlamp assembly on the vehicle.

that last bolt under the fender is killing me! I lied down under the car, but the sportlines aren't helping my fat head fit under there. I thought I removed a bolt from the bottom of the headlight, but it wasn't it. Dang, now to try and put it back on and find the right one!

So it's easier accessed thru the wheelwell?

This really helps out folks, with this I was able to swap out headlights in under thirty minutes.

Step One radiator shroud
Step Two the grill
Step Three upper bolts over headlight assembly;
it was perfect up to that point.
However, step four is lift and pull the assembly toward the center of the front end.
The headlight assembly has a "U" shaped connection to that last bolt from inside the fenderwell. To actually remove that bolt is a waste of time. The assembly with a little convincing slides on and off that bolt.
Dont pull that assembly too far, there are wires. The dust cover can be easily peeled away; and the tightening spinner for the headlight is only a little narrower than the overall opening. Try to avoid attempting to spin the bulb assembly itself (see replacement bulb assembly). One quarter turn counterclockwise, collar can be removed. Watch the angle when pulling out and replacing the bulb assembly.
Replace in reverse order, but don't crawl under the car for a headlight replacement.

And my first headlight just burned out at 143k miles mostly run at night. Could hardly be happier with 2006 focus.
