Hello everyone I was searching for an answer to this and I havent really found what the problem seems to be. Everytime when I'm driving and shift in to first from a stop i hear this humming noise when I release the clutch pedal.Also it happens when I go in reverse and if I'm at a hill and it rolls back. Thanks everyone for your help on this.

Is your clutch slipping?
You may have clutch fluid from the slave cylinder leaking onto the clutch plate.

Is your clutch/brake fluid reservoir level going down? In other words, do you think the slave cylinder is leaking? The level should not drop. It will only drop if there is a leak somewhere.
Another possible noise maker in the clutch is the throw-out bearing. You would notice that anytime you pushed in the clutch pedal.

Usually when a throw-out bearing is making a noise its more like a swirling sound??? (hard to convey sounds using only text...have to get creative) Imagine putting a marble or two into a coffee can and swirling the can so the marbles roll around in the can...something like that?
A humming sound is usually caused by some type of liquid getting onto the clutch plate and flywheel. Then when the two are engaged the whole thing will shudder (you can probably feel the shudder) at the friction point and make a humming (?) sound.

would it all sound like a caliper getting held up. You stop then start to go and you get a humming noise for maybe like a quarter revolution on the tires then no noise after. Does it happen everytime? Mine does this but its my caliper sticking...or a warped rotor or something brake related. Im not sure what it is but know its break related because i had a buddy listen one time when i took off at the front wheel and sure enough. so short story long. Check into that.
I had the same sound the last few days and just had it fixed. It was my front left wheel bearing. If your caliper is sticking, you'd notice uneven wear. If your rotor is warped (misnomer), you'd feel vibration in your brakes at high speed.
