So I am borrowing a set of 16x7 Bronze Rota Grids with a 40mm offset for a show in the next few days......

Lurker (fj name) lent me these with 215/45 Azenis on them.

Lemme tell you...
Turn in....

Grip....

I am officially in love with these tires. The only thing that makes me not want them is the wet grip...from what I have heard is not that great...but not that bad. But I LOVE to drive in the rain, so its quite the turn off!

But needless to say...I have a set of black Slipstreams on the way to the house as we speak!!

"From what you have HEARD".....

There's a Correction to be made here.
Azenis' Wet GRIP is INCREDIBLE!!!!
On a Typical 40 or so second Auto-X course, I MIGHT give up 1-2 tenths in the wet.
The ONLY issue is Highway-Speed potential for Hydroplaning in STANDING water.
At Full Tread-depth, I can plow through typical standing road water at 55-60 no problem.
As the tread wears down, they don't disperse water very well at ALL.
That is NOT "Wet Traction".
The GRIP is Fine.
There is ZERO Grip if the tire is not in contact with the pavement.
When new, this isn't an issue.
After they're worn, they're for Auto-X-speed use only, where they STILL GRIP like a MOFO!!!
Of course, after they're worn down 2/3rds or so, they seem to get into a harder compound which doesn't grip as well Wet OR Dry, (As compared w/ new), but to say that they don't GRIP in the Wet is a Complete Misnomer.

BTW, Glad you like them in the Dry.
Due to Budget, I always regret having to take them off after a Race weekend...

Several guys did well with Kumho Ecsta MX's at Nationals see:

http://www.scca.org/amateur/solo2/nationals/2003/results/groups/sts.html

The wet traction is pretty decent too see comparison test at:

I have that exact same set up for auto-x. I got caught in down poor with then on and was pleasantly surprised how well they worked.

The question I have is are you planning to run them on a dally bases, they will though the speedometer off, (if that’s the size your getting that is). I also know another guy that runs them on a dally bases, he doesn’t seem to have any trouble with them.

Most guys who use them on a Daily Basis either don't drive too many miles per day, AND drive very calmly on the street, OR they have enough budget to buy 2-3 sets a year.
In the 215/45/16 size, I personally can't afford that, though I have from time to time gone a week or more with mine on. (Laziness regarding changing them, PLUS the joy of having them on...)
