Anyone think there is a market for a 'baby' Lighting based on the Ranger platform. Low to mid 20's price range would be ideal n my mind. Id look into it if it was done right. Anyone else?

Ford was messing around w/ this idea. Can't remember as to what it was going to be called, but I think it did have the lightning engine in it. I could be wrong. Someone can correct me. Also I don't think for is going to go through w/ that idea.

They made something with a wing on the pickup cover and a lightning bold on each side, and a different front(i saw it when we were paying for my focus) it wasnt bad looking, cf inserts on the interior and overall nice, but it was expensive, like 20k and i dont think it was faster at all, it just had a hood scoop, but i think it was just for show. I wasnt impressed, so anyhting svt would prolly be 23-26k. I thought about it too today for a second, dunno why.

Transplanting a 302/351 is fairly easy in the Ranger. The Exploder came standard with the 302 back before the latest bodystyle, and from what I hear from some local Ranger fanatics, it is an easy swap into the Ranger.

Lightning Bolt it is! I saw info on that when i got my car a year ago. Dumbass ford should sell it since the R/T dakota has no competition. It looks real cool whith huge rear tires and a Supercharger!

...since the R/T dakota has no competision.
Except for the standard 4.7L Dakota..
the dakota is supposedly considered a mid-size truck, the ranger a compact truck, so the dakota has no competition anyway...

the 302 swap in a ranger is easy, i had one dropped in my 1990 model, i payed to have it done, fairly cheaply, just need new headers and motor mounts, other than that it drops right in..what was expensive was the rear ends i went thru..till i dropped an 8.8 (or was it a 9"?, dont remember) rear end...and the tires i went thru monthly were getting rather expensive...

It's actually a thunder bolt... the one you have the link to is only a concept.... the real thunder bolt that is available right now is mostly just visual add on's... it still has a fairly stock motor....but it's just a package you can purchase to add to the vehicle... it's not an actual "Different Vehicle" and it has nothing to do with SVT.

The Chevy Extreme is nothing but a body kit and soft suspension. There is no motor work done to it. The Dakota is the only "factory hot rod" small truck out there. I think Ford let that idea die about the time that the NHRA cancelled the truck prostock division.

That's a sweet truck, but it's not SVT. It even has an ATX.

Well...Actually there was a Ranger concept out a while ago...never took off....But you will see a few homemade replicas out there, or at least I have....It was the Ranger with the 5.0 in it. It was in Mototrend a while back...I still remember it, and when I get a few bucks together I would still like to try and do the same....
