I know it\'s a Honda... but I need some advice on it. . .

I found this on ebay, and was wondering if anybody can tell me if it's a good deal. I'm wanting to add a CRX to my cars for a fun car to work on and keep the focus a daily driver since I'm putting it back to stock form.

Would the conversion like that be expensive to have done? Would I be saving any money with this?

As well, what is the best motor to put it in this thing for turbocharging?

I think if you are going for fast this is not your CRX....it seems it would have alot of extra weight and body work....which weight is the main reason why the crx is fast. I would say the best engine would be a B16A(dohc vetc 160hp) but you should go onto some honda boards because the D16(sohc vetc) can also get good hp with turbo and is cheaper and easyer to find then a B16. I would say just find a crx that is in good shape and maybe just get one with a blown motor and swap in a B16 or D16....or there is always a prelude swap....that is kind of my current brain child as a fun car when I get the money. OKay well this is not your car unless you want everone to look at you and say wow how did you do that/ why the hell did you do that....as a honda you are going to get alot of crap about having corvette lights from everyone. Well good luck.

if you want some serious power, take a block from a crv, b20z add a vtec head, off a b16a2('99-01 si. if you want a less costly setup get a b18c, teg gsr motor. DO NOT use a H22, prelude motor, they do not work well in civics or crx' theyre just too big, the tranny's suck, and the mounts are ghetto fab. if you want really cheap take a d16y8(soch vtec) and drop that in there. i think that crx is damn ugly, i would find one with the normal bumpers and lights, the '91 crx's dont look to bad. if you need more help with engines, PM me and i can help you out with more specifics, ive built a few honda engines and ive worked and allot as well.

Why in gawds name would you buy that? I know its a honda, I know its reliable... But the back end resembles the cellulite ass of a 70's porn star... thats hideous.. do yourself a favor, pick up a 1st or 2nd gen RX7... tons more fun, cheaper, and you can shoot flames out the tailpipe by running a little rich and yanking the cat... have fun either way.. but god that rear fascia... ~vomits~

I'd buy that ****, rip it apart and put it back to stock exterior...and build it as a track car instead of a showroom bitch or a freak that it currently is.

A friend of mine is looking to buy a early 90's crx or civic hatch. What would be the price to swap out the d16y8(soch vtec) motor or B16A(dohc vtec), and what would be needed.

I like it, I would do away with the vette tails and put in some other tails that fill up that space better, but other than that i like it.

From the owner's description: "A lot of people say it's (the car) unidentifyable." They say, "is that a CRX?" or "WTF is that?"

Exactly dude. Just WTF is that? Looks like a project gone bad. The bids are up to over 3Gs, so I guess the wheels on the car must be worth about 3gs.

That rear end is a little nasty but the front looks great. If you are planning on building a cheap project with decent times the ZC engine DOHC non vtec engine does decent with a turbo and as long as you get above a 88 it is one of the easiset swaps, that and the sohc vtec from the 92-95 civic ex. The B16a is an awesome motor to build on and is soo much fun and you can get that done for not to much money. Wilsons Import dream factory in houston is a decent place with some nice prices. pm me and i can give you more details.

just an idea for prices http://www.racingworks.com/vtec.html

I like it, minus the corvette part. To switch to the integra fron probably took nothing more than to buy the front bumper, and what looks like (I think a little fabing by the headlight nounts and the quarterpannels. The rear lookes like it took about 1000 lbs worth of bondo. It's a project and a half, have fun. An if this is your gig have fun and screw every whos talking smack above me
