very nice! powdercoating rules. I thought it would look a little darker though. What are those filter things on your battery?

It's a little oil separator/air breather that was intended for my beetle project. I modified it alittle and hooked it up to the vc as a temp fix. I used get oil all over my hood and back of my motor out of the air filter I had on the vc. I could just change the pvc valve and it would probably fix it but I want to ditch it altogether when turbo time rolls around anyway. I'm working on a bigger/better permanent breather and I'm going to switch to the shalower escort valve cover without the pcv valve in it. Might even leave me enough room to put the air water/ic on top of the motor instead of to the side of it. (evil grin).

I noticed some of my DSM friends are using a fram filter for the breather. looks like a small fuel filter or maybe something from a lawn mower. inline with the breather hose. seems to work pretty well. I still dont understand why you dont want to put a nice shiney intercooler in the grill. :egrin:

right, i've seen that too. I think that setup is alittle restrictive though. That filter is pretty small.

About the ic, I want to keep the lag as low as possible and It will be much easier for me to build the kit with a super short piping run.

so you're gonna be one of those guys that argues about spool time on heat wrapped Vs. non-heat wrapped pipes?

If you are so concerned about lag, why not a twin-screw blower instead?

why not a twin screw blower? Cuz unlike JGS, jackson racing wouldn't trade me one for a used haltech!
Turbo kit is much more easier to install than a sc anyway. Installing an intercooler on a roots supercharger is no easy task.

I want good upper power and not much lag. I think stock compression, t3/t04b and super short piping is the way to go.

Sandblasted and painted the coolant tank,added the clear ps resevior, put my msd coil back in with magnecores(thanks 4dse) and made a new bracket for it, hood struts, machined the lettering on the vc, cleaned it up a bit, polished the heat sheild and tieded up the o2 sensor and fan wiring. The next time the bay changes it will be radically different.

he gave me a good deal on a used set of wires.

hey red ! yupper the bastage would be me
but hey when i pm for parts i like to say i follow through ! what ever happened to those parts from september 02 ?
gig the spi is looking saweeeet! and those wires oooooooooh !
i gotta get another focus- damn
