This is normal. Mine's been doing it for 2 and a half
years. As long as it doesn't die completely you're fine.
I had a 1990 Firefly Turbo and a 1992 Grand Prix that were exactly the same.

This should not be accepted as normal and therfore ok. It drives me crazy!

I have the '03 SVT and I have the same story. This car will drop far enough where the battery light comes on because the Alt is not spinning fast enough. If I am going slow (10 mph in first) down my street, the car bucks and lurches. What gives?

However, my '01 Wagon runs great.

I have been starting my car, idling it for only a few minutes as opposed to letting it warm-up for 10 minutes, and then driving away.

When I go down the street for let's say a 1/2 mile and stop, the idle will dip down heavily, the car almost dies and it does this about 2-3 times and then it is smooth as glass. It will do this usually once or twice at stops until the car warms up to temperature.

I have no idea what to think. I baby the car - no racing, shifting around 3k, oil changes every 3k, new air filter at 20k (has 21k right now 2001SE), and so-forth.

Any suggestions? Reply here and/or send me an Email.

Thanks.
