Try disabling the display of pictures so your pages load faster.

UNcheck Display Pictures
UNcheck Play Animations
Check Show Image download placeholders
This should help out AND reduce the load on the server's software because it doesn't have to "serve" the pictures to you unless you right-click an image and choose "Show Picture" (or, simply right-click the image placeholder and press the h key.) (try it...it works)
