Ford is cheap.

You can get a tach and tach driver through Steve at Tousley Ford for a great price, iirc. (Send a PM to FORDSVTPARTS)
 
Yes it is... I called my dealer to ask them about it, 1 they keep your car about 3-4 days, and they ship off the cluster and your cluster to burn the chip with the correct millage... then mail back...

They keep you car the whole time... so it sucks... adding a tach is much easier! and cheaper!

Well if its for racing, he'll want to see it. I wish my tach was bigger. I was banging off the rev limiter last time I raced at PIR with NASA.

Well I dont want a 4 in tach... I want about 3-4 in.... and I will put it where I can see it... I am going to have to do this pretty soon, cause not haveing a Tach is driving me nuts... Espcially now since I can really get to my rev limiter easily...
 
well since we're talking about it ive got a 2005 ford focus zx4 2.0L and i have no idea how to install it and i didnt get a manual so if anyone has pictures id appreciate it or at least sumthin cus my ford dealer said they couldnt help which is pretty gay since i got the car from them

While the scion I work on has a stock tach, the driver doesn't use it. We also have installed a digital HUD with a digital tach, which he also doesn't use. What he loves is the huge amber beam shift light that comes on a few hundred RPM before the limiter. It's easy to see while keeping your focus :))) on the next apex.

You can buy 3" of 4" tachs check out summit or jegs they have a bunch. However if you want a tach for racing I would just get a shift light. After all when you are on the track you are not going to be looking at the tack anyways.
 
u can add the cluster, you dont have to get the mileage switched around and whatnot. just whatever the mileage reads on the new tach you get, thats what it will say. unless you actually get a new one, then they just have to use the computer they have at the dealership to transfer the data. they dont have to send anything off anywhere
