well, i would recommend a nerp manifold, but you will have to remake your throttle body piping since it puts in close to the same spot as the svt's. pm cedwards89

this. Chaz's is a copy of theirs since TOP speed decided to leave everyone hanging from a cliff as far as communication.

 

Well if TS has no customer support that kinda sux, so I guess stock early 2000 manifold & port it. Was hoping more companies made one

 

stolle there s nothing wrong with a FRIM a vortech cant flow the numbers needed for a ts or nerp manifold anyhow..

 

doesnt mean that putting one wont show gains even over the outdated FIRM design. the runners are too long.

and FYI the TS/NERP is a take off from the honda world applied to the focus. aka: universal therory

 

If the TS/NERP were with the flanges and not have to look for the SVT lower. That is the only reason I have not got one of them.

 

they arnt that hard to get.

 

Everyone that I find doesn't want to split up the lower from the upper.

So i looked at the TS manifold on internet & it does look good. How much Will it out perform the stock ported?

 

ask Ja-rad he had a ported 2000 and then used the TS one.

i know TS had a stock zetec auto with a gt2871r on it and it made like 260whp compared to 212whp JUST switching intake manifolds from the stock plastic one.


its worth the gains and the way it makes the car keep pulling harder to limiter. my car never fails to keep pushing u in ur seat harder and harder. its a crazy sensation compared to a car that dosent have a curve shape like that.

 

Well, for one point of comparison, Andy/Stolle noted above that he got 53 more hp with the Top Speed manifold over the Ford Racing Intake Manifold (FRIM), which flows better than the stock one.

 

Thnx for the info will the stock throttle body still work with TS manifold?

I guess its a tunning thing the stock TB actually ran better than the 65mm tb I had on orginally but the TB is also ported. Basically I need a new manifold either way so if its worth spending money for the TS manifold to gain HP then I will buy it.

 

thata the right attitude, my focus central t b took a crap and leaks air at the seals. so I switched back to stock as well

 

id get one from nerp though. With TS, who knows when they will actually finish it and get it to you. NERP is cheaper too.

 

NERP? IdK what that means sorry bin of forum for 6 years lol. Also the TS won't work I need a top mount intake so I don't have to modify the intercooler piping

 

NERP is CEDWARDS89 on here. he makes the same style manifold as TS...but anyway, i saw a FRIM in ebay last week...might still be there...thats about ur only option.

making new piping is easy...why limit urself because of one pipe?

Mine and jims in NOT a copy of the ts mani. Just because ours never went "into full production" like theres (and we all see how that turned out) doesnt mean ours is a copy. Ours has machined stacks on the base plate. From what i seen of a ts mani there were NO stacks of any kind.

I also put our design into computer flow testing software and made tweaks to the mani until i saw the best results.

 

it doesnt have stacks because its for forced induction, air flows like water, it has a router'd fillet instead of a velocity stack on each runner.

 

No bashing here just pointing out facts that i have seen

Just because it is forced does NOT mean it shouldnt have stacks of some kind. You might as well say a ported head or runners doesnt help either. The smoother and easier air can flow the better it is going to be.

show me ONE good mani that a lot of people are running and making power with on Any car platform that doesnt have sone sort of stacks or radius.

As ive said before i HAVE put multiple setups in a simulator WITH forced air simulated and non forced air. And the difference with stacks vs nothing is Rediculous.

Jims was already proven to make 600+ and we started working together on them to give the best of both worlds, machine and welding wise.

Seems to me there's nothing magical about the TB being mounted at one end of the manifold. Couldn't a TS/Nerp style manifold be made with the entrance on top, to accommodate the centrifugal supercharger IC piping on this car?

A manifold could be made to keep the throttle body at the top but it simply doesnt spread the airflow to each port like you want.
Without a huge design change of the plenum.
If it has a "standard" plenum with tb up top the air hits the bottom wall and almost tumbles and doesnt flow to the ports like you want, where as the side mount tb has the length of the plenum to divide the air up and spread with not as many drastic changes to the airflow.

 

that all makes sense just wish there were a way too make it work with my set up. The bends I would need to make I feel will restrict all that I would gain with side mount intake. They have made just over 3000whp with stock intake so I don't plan on passing that mark, but hope too reach it.

 

cant you reclock the blower and put a FMIC and make it work?
