So I replaced Tarmac yesterday.

It's not a track pack model, it's just a base coupe but it has a decent amount of grunt for the kind of driving I do, and even without the Brembos it stops just fine too. The backseats surprised me, having spent a long road trip in the back of a Tiburon I assumed they were just as bad, but my 5'8" brother fit just fine behind me. I'll likely be investing in an LSD, there are already several on the market, since I'll be driving this thing year-round.

I figure the LSD and a set of real tires will really make a huge difference along with some minor bolt-ons over time. Right now the car is filthy, it was clean before my test drive but this city is a dust bowl. I'll be needing to detail it. The dealer offered to detail it but I took a few free oil changes in place of them messing up my car with armor all. I also got the manager to grab me one of the giant baloons off the roof of the dealership

Anyways, pics:

First modification will be a new front grille since the stock one is ghastly. Then I'll be de-badging the car completely save for one Hyundai badge on the trunk since it's recessed. For now all I'm doing with the engine is cleaning it. Performance parts can wait. I'll be getting winter wheels and rubber soon as well.

I'll also be getting this plate soon:

16 - BIT

It's the big parking lot at Prairieland Park. I was going to snap some better shots at Sask Place but there is an auto-x taking place there today. I got the car from Saskatoon Hyundai, it was the car they had buried in the front corner of the lot with the giant $19,995 on the side. Invoice on the car is just over $23,000 CDN so it was a good deal with 0%, a longer warranty, and the stuff they had already put in the car.

I was really torn between this car and hitting up Cale (postman bob), who's selling his turbo Focus. In the end I wanted to start fresh. My last car was never really mine, I just happened to own it, Jason was the one that did most of the work on that car and I always made sure people knew it. This one will be mine.

That is were i thought they were taken but wasnt 100%. That seems like a good deal on the car. Cale used to work at that dealer for a short while selling there. I have seen Cale's car for sale on kijiji for a long while and if I could afford it it would be parked out front right now lol.
Congrats on the car and good luck with the fresh start.

Ps. What happened to your focus?. Mine is gone also lol but I went in a different direction and got a 2010 f150 lol

They don't come factory with LSD's?

And for some reason I pictured you getting a yellow one. No idea why. :dunno:

Nice car though. But why does it look like BP had an accident right in front of the airbox?

The track pack cars come with the LSDs from the factory. To get the LSD I have to get leather, climate control, Infinity stereo, HIDs and the brembos, all of which I really didn't need.

I actually planned on factory ordering a gray car, but this color works and I would have paid a higher price to do a factory order and might have missed out of the 0% financing deal.

The engine was dusty from the truck ride over, then during my test drive we drove down a wet road having construction done on it, it's just dirty right now. I'll be cleaning it all up tomorrow when I de-badge it.

I'm really loving these cars... RWD coupe ftw.

Hey now... Let us not get all fan boi-ish. If HTM walked away from the deal he got on that car, I would have driven the bus load of US jetters up to his neck of Canada for his Full Metal Jacket blanket party. He'd be Private Pyle and we'd all be Joker.

I plan on doing just a couple small modifications to the car. As it sits the ride is stiff, but absolutely not harsh like my Focus was. It eats potholes with no issue either which is part of the reason I like the car as much as I do. I'll get some more info about the coilover kits out for the car and figure it out from there. The will be winter driven so I will need to be able to get the car back up when the snow hits.

Most of the mods I do will be small mods like opening up the headlights/taillights and painting the chrome, debadging, and fabricating a Genesis to replace the Hyundai badge using the font from the Sega Genesis. The stock exhaust ian't too restrictive, as far as factoey units go it's apparently quite good, but I prefer round tips so I will put that on a maybe-do list.

A also really want to find a nice wider (10" rear, 9" front if possible) wheel in a 17" to replace the factory 18s. I prefer the meaty tire look on cars like this to giant wheels.

This is what I'm looking fr as a start:
