Well here it is guys and girls, my 1989 std cab short box s10. Bought it from a guy for 500 bucks wayy out east and have been waiting and wating to tear into it. Upon buying the truck I picked up the last few pieces for the air ride so we were good to go. Friday night we moved it to my friends shop and ripped into it!

Got a lot done IMO, I had the interior pulled the week before and started strippping the gate, the bodyline on the bed was all bondoed in

We stripped the whole truck down and got the front pretty much all tied up in just 2 days. Still need to notch for the tierods and all that but we are moving quickly on it, looking to have the front laid out tomorrow!

BTW its a 2.5 stick with leaky power steering pump and rear end lol I still have the focus, sadly not much remains, just the f2 wing, euro wired tails, svt lights, sportlines, painted interior and the Steeda SRI. I did however pick up some blue SVT front seats for it, so I ddnt completely forget about it!

Here are the pics, they go in from start to its current state.

As stated in the Rigz rules, please do not post pictures of your car in another individual's rigz thread. Links are fine, I fixed this one for you.

Are you going to take it down the the frame and clean/paint everything? I would have a hard time throwing money and parts at a vehicle like that without cleaning everything up. What's in store for the engine, rear end, interior, etc.? Good luck with the build. Nate

Why not start with a nice vehicle in the first place? I never have understood that. Restoration work sucks and if you can easily and cheaply find a nice example of what you want, why not take that route?

wow, nice work so far

looks like quite a project

um ok???

I am taking it all down eventually, doing teh front of the frame tonight and hopefully the rear. Under the cab will be done when the body drop is in progress, makes sense IMO. Thanks for all the feedback guys! BTW I got new doors alraedy 200 for both brand new from GM!!!

Well huge update tonight, went over to get started and I walk in and see the front laid out on the skid plate! Finished grinding the front and painted it, and grinded down what is going to be salvaged from the rear as the 5 link set up is going in soon as well. Heres some pics!

Huge update for you guys! Got a lot done over the last two weekends. Installed the notch and got most of SD 5 Link set up in using Slam RE8's. Just need to install the struts. Truck lays out front to back now and we just need to notch a tiny bit for the tie rods since they are just touching the frame.

Lookin to do a SFBD in the futre but I want to fix all the rust/rot first. Looking to get the rockers and cab corners soon and the doors I already have. I also need a new bed beore we start as well, want to do everything in one shot. Also the air management for now will be mounted in the bed, but when it is finished we are doing a raisedbed floor and everything will be hidden under it, not really a fan of having everything showing.

For now here it is layd out in all its glory! Got some more odds and ends to do as well but suspension is at least done!

Makes me miss my 91 Sonoma :( Of course I had that before the whole air-ride thing took off :p

It had Belltech spindles and springs, rear blocks, ST Sway bars, and 16x7 American Racing 5 stars. Thing handled on rails! But it was 5 speed 4.3L, and had the. worst. wheel. hop. ever.

I'd love to find an older boxy Blazer and dump it.

Keep up the good work! I can't wait to see it finished :)

You know... as completely non-functional and retarded as air-ride slammed minitrucks are.....

I can't help but want to build one myself. What is WRONG with me?

...that was a compliment, BTW... keep up the good work.

lol, they aren't that bad :p nice job man! I've got a 86 blazer 2.8 that I'm gonna be bagging and probably traditional body dropping in the future.

haha yea I hear ya man. Not really functional but this is going to be a show truck/weekend cruiser. I got the fofo for the DD. Unfortunately the fo had to get torn apart to fund this project, its almost all stock but thats ok, its still getting some love  Progress on the truck... Not much lol aiming to get it all together by saturday or sunday so I can take it for a spin and get it out of my buddies garage. The main part is done now and we just need to mount tank and compressors and do the wiring and all that, but it will just all be temporarily set up. I am waiting till the spring so I can save up some money and get call the body work started before it will be moutned the way I want to.

Im looking to mount EVERYTHING under the bed and have a raised floor so it will just look like a really shallow bed. I am working on a junction box now though so everything will be the way I want it and we just need to slightly relocate things. Also we are moving the battery to the bed as well to clean up the engine bay.

Oh yea, since the 4banger is on its way out at 200+ miles on it we are going to be putting a carb'd 350 into it so there will be minimal wires and the engine bay will be soooo clean. Still got a lot of work ahead of us but for now it is done till I can get a new bed and fix the rust on the cab and get some more parts to shave things and stockfloor it
