Yes i know the roots dont like to work for their air and a full cai will cut down the hp on the SC but here is my question.

With just a short K&N, MAF, tube TB I dont max out my SVT maf. I think 4.5 is the most I hit whan Im hard on it. Now givin the drop in HP will a full CAI starve the SC or air as in not get enough to it, run out of air etc.... or does it just not pull as much so it kills some HP. just trying to understand

I suppose the SC could be spinning and just not pulling as much air as with a short ram but would it run out and cause gaps of no air
cause it to pulse

A long intake shouldn't hurt the blower - it just makes it work harder for a given airflow because of the increased drag.

If I had a JRSC and I was hell-bent on using a custom intake, I'd probably use a short-ram intake and fab some good air ducts to supply cool air to it.
so it really isnt running out of air that makes gaps its more it cant pull enough air? Thats what I thought, im not bent on using it per say but I dont race it up that often so I figured Id try it out and see how it does

I using the FS Cool-Flo and made the SVT snorkel fit up into the heat shield box to routh the air up there, and that seems to be working pretty well

put a CAI on .. if it's mandrel and 3"+ then you'll be fine . you'll satisfy ignition timing with the supply of cool air . which is a greater power gain then the unmeasureable loss of having the roots "work for it's air".
I dunno about that. The temperature rise from compressing the air will be huge compared to the temperature difference between the CAI and the stock airbox.

Ignition timing can indeed be more aggressive if the air charge is kept cool, but with the JRSC, there's no such thing as a "cool" air charge, except when you're operating under vacuum and the bypass valve is open.
yeah I just figured the cooler air by the wheel is better than all the heat trapped under the hood where the airbox was.

i don't think its going to make a difference b/c once that cool air reaches the JRSC...its getting heated up again anyway.
with my relocated IAT after the compressor, my air charge temp is not much warmer then ambient air temp with my 3" CAI

Why are you worried about not going more than 4.5v?

You DO NOT want to max out your MAF, doing so creates problems, if are under the 5v cut, you are fine.

thats good info
I may wait on installing it then

no worried about it it just hasnt gone past 4.6

The charge temps will only rise when the throttle is applied.

I had charge temps of 180deg on a single gear dyno pull.

It was 85 that day
