Just ordered the Focus Central High Flow Catalytic Converter to replace my stock factory cat that literally disintegrated and blew out the tail pipe.

My car accelerates like a mother without the cat, especially at the top of the revs in second gear, but the car is very loud and there is an almost constant stumble when cruising or at highway speed that I think may be related to a failed DPFE.

The dealer did not replace the DPFE to my knowledge (they never gave me my repair notice) because they determined that the cat had failed and became fixated on the failed cat.

For my troubles, the dealer closed the hood on a tool and damaged the hood of my car and then denied they had caused the damage. Settled with them in small claims court for $480 toward repairing what has been estimated to be $800 worth of damage. Insurance should cover the difference.

As soon as FC cat comes in I will install it and post my impressions.

Current Modifications:
Volant Intake
Focus Sport Street Header
Focus Sport Flex Pipe
MPRP Exhaust
Focus Central Under Drive Pulleys

The FC intake is designed to be like the Volant, and the hood was originally designed to be used with the Volant intake kit. So unless the new hoods have changed, I would venture to guess you will be fine.

To be sure though, you should just call Focus Central and ask them.

Guess what just arrived
Came home at 8:00 pm via UPS. Guy was working late!

Nice Looking Cat

Focus Central High Flow Cat.

Going to put it in by Saturday at the latest.

Let ya know what I think!

Had to scrap plans for the hood (nnybody want to donate $400 to the cause) because the insurance co would not cover the diffrence.

Current Modifications:
Volant Intake
Focus Sport Street Header
Focus Central High Flow Cat
Focus Sport Flex Pipe
Focus Sport Plug Wires
MPRP Exhaust
Focus Central Under Drive Pulleys

Installed the cat on yesterday.
Power is smooth no more hesitation or jumpy idle.
Power builds around 4500 - 5000 rpm.
No CEL at least not as of yet.

The exhaust note is snarly.
It is not an angry bees type of note.
Deep and rich. Gets your attention.
It is a bit loud but is within acceptable limits.
Certainly a lot better than it was with the gutted cat.

Set off a car alarm on the way home as I pulled away from a stoplight.
