we gotta stay in texas, and it's gotta be on a weekend. Other than that I'm in!

 

west texas, out near Kerville has some killer twistys and beautiful scenery. Theres a kick ass state park in Garner, called Garner state park. Cheap to get in, and great hills and view behind the park. Plus I get to see the GF if we plan this one out ther

 

garner state park is a good idea but I think past get togethers have shown that "twisties" can lead to wrecked cars, not everyone drives at the same level... Just a thought.

 

I've always thought a trip out to Kerrville or Junction to drive the twisties would be fun.

 

ok, well, set a nice pace down 90 up to garner, say a fun 55mph....be a hell of a photoshoot. Im down for the roadtrip. There isnt anywhere to stay in that area, so a tent isnt too bad of an idea for me. real cheap.

 

^You can stay at the Park... they've got tent sites & cabins. That place does rock!

 

You guys should think of something that people can come out to and go back home in the same day. That includes everyone from Houston, Dallas, and SA.

But what do I know...I have never planned anything here.

As long as I don't have to plan it...I will be there.

 

the drive to Kerville on 16 is great. If you guys plan on doing this, I'm in.

You can take 16 to PR37 and have a blast. That is a great cruise all the way up.

There is a part of 16 toward Kerville that is like a mountain road. A somewhat narrow 2 lane with elevation changes and all. It's fun, but you gotta watch yourself on it. Those curves sneak up on you sometimes.

Another word of caution:

Jetters have a history of getting lost. Stick to main highways and BIG places for statewide g2g's.

You may hate the service in whatever you did in Galveston...but its a great g2g spot.

1 - Its off I-45
2 - Its a city thats fairly easy to navigate
3 - There are many well known spots that you can park in and g2g/pics

well seeing as there are ppl from Dallas all the way down to RGV and out to Houston... there really is no mid-road... I think Kerrville would be good... its a new place that we havent been to...

Garner sounds Good, whomever complains, shouldnt cuz Us from the RGV being the farthest we will do whatever we can to amke it out! During the Galveston trip i think we drove the farthest, and prob will again!!

I've been hearing lately that Kerrville isn't friendly to Cycle clubs...so I wonder how they will respond to a bunch of Foci cruising through.

As soon as you get into Kerrville, you pass a hospital and a police station, so definately keep your sound in check.
