After my airbags have deployed and I go to replace them, does the air bag module under the center console need to be replaced as well or no? My local Ford dealership said no but I dont believe anything they say.

YES, The module should be replaced. Never had to replace the CPU. Its standard procedure at the shop i work, so the insurance company pays to replace the module. We dont choose to replace it, we are required to do so. The reason....not totally sure on the exact reason...

you can always check ebay. I know some folks that have both purchased and sold air bag modules on ebay. Here is an example.

^ and your surprised why? there are many employees in parts and the garage at my local dealerships I wouldn't trust with a nickel more less my car lol

You will have to replace the seatbelts(pretensioners), module under the center console, and possibly a sensor up front. My 00 ZX3 didn't have the one up front, but my 02 SVT did. However I still hevent figured out where it is supposed to be mounted and ford wont tell me. ???

Yes hes got a good point. Your suposed to replace your seatbelts, or seatbelt if you were the only one in the car. Usually you shouldnt have to unless you can tell that the pretensioners are busted. The force of the impacted and your body going forward will break it. Maybe 1 out of every 25 airbag jobs ive done have i replaced the seatbelts. Maybe i should do it more often, but its usually not that big of a deal on slow impact.
