There was another guy here who painted his chrome surround body color (Oxford white as well), and I have a question for him.

First, I tried to mask off just the chrome, and didn't pay close enough attention and got some leakage. Then I separated the surround from the grille, broke the smallest tabs where it joined.

Shouldn't be a problem when I reassemble (I hope) since I can always fill with clear hard drying adhesive in those spots.
