Is your MAF sensor backwards? Did you disconnect the battery for 15 minutes? There could also be a leak but then it would run lean.

disconnect the battery for 15 mins to reset the ECU. you should be ok

 

ok i disconnected the bat again for 2 hours. the check engine light is gone but i still have no power below 2000rpm i also adjusted all the lines going to the intake and made sure they were all tight

 

Spray too much oil on the filter??

 

ok engine light came back on today after taking a fast HW exit i was also doing some extensive research and found out that it might be that the timing belt skipped a tooth. or that it might be the crank breather tube dumping oil into the intake but i really don't know. and this problem is driving me crazy!! im starting to think that my foxy does not want to be tuned

 

DUDE, take it to any auto place and have the CEL tested...

ITS free charge.. bring back the code.. more likely they will also tell you what the code is and means but thats the only way we can help you

 

i did take it to my ford dealer and i also did ask for the code but the guy that i got was way out to lunch
but he did tell me that the engine was running rich and it might clog my cat latter on down the road

there's something wrong with the sensor. loose (or bad) connection, dirty sensor, SOMETHING..

its a new intake, with a new filter and unless you took a crap in the intake tube when you were drunk or something, there's nothing clogging your intake. its running rich which means one of your sensors isnt working properly. more than likely your MAF.

tripple check your connections, pull the MAF out, inspect it, clean it if necessary, and if its still giving you trouble take it to an auto parts store to get that code! that's gunna do you the most good. forget the dealer. they charge 90 bucks an hour for their tech to LOOK at your car with their thumb up their butt. (personal opinion about the dealership stuff)

 

I actually had the same problem with my F2 intake. soon as I put the stock intake back on the code never popped up again. custom tune would take care of it

 

that code is just going to give 4 other potential problems with the car based on the same code if its related to MAF. Try putting your stock back on and see if it goes away. Ultimately, still take it to Autozone or somewhere and have them pull the diag code, takes about 3 min to do.

 

you never had power below 2k rpm!
i felt the same when i first installed it but the sound of the intake will trick you a bit. i realized i was under revving in first gear too much causing the car to jog untill it reaches about 1800-2000 rpm.

 

wasn't there an issue with the k&n cai's supplying their own maf tube which was not the same ID as the stock unit? I thought I remember hearing that the typhoons were throwing codes like crazy for that reason.

 

I heard that as well, I also have the K&N typhoon and have had NO problems.

 

I sure hope its not, I have one on order that I got for a good price, and it better not give me any problems.

 

i might of missed it on the other post but is your maf clean. I know my brother had this problem with one of his focus. i bet it is something with the maf. def get it checked if nothing is working
