I had it happen once in my car in the 3.5yrs of ownership. Something about the airbox for the AC under the glovebox but I just ignored it and it hasnt happened again. :dunno:

 

This happens sometimes when the A/C evaporator drain line clogs. If you let it keep dripping your car will start to smell like hot buttered @ss crack after a few weeks of your carpet rotting. Once the carpet adhesive starts to dissolve the carpet will start to bubble and roll up at the edges as well. I'm not sure where the drain line is on a Focus but it just neeeds to be augered out and you'll be fine. If you're noticing it now it probably started a week ago so deal with it quick or you'll end up with an unbelievable funk that won't go away.

 

normally on teh focus, its the window seal but it can also be the heater core or the evaperator drain

 

This was a really common problem on early Foci, mine included.

More likely it is a seal up by the windshield, under where the water drains into the cowl. It was one of my warranty repairs that was actually performed properly.

 

thanks ill have to seal that up, what kind of sealant can you use there to seal it properly?

the sealant i used is a clear rubber silicone that i bought at walmart. no more leaks!
