Hey i live in fla and i do believe the only colors you can not have on while driving is red and blue as for they are the colors of the cop lights so there illegal to have on while driving im not sure if any other's just my two cents and what i have heard...but check into it if you want to know for sure.just trying to help out in anyway i can

 

Generally, your state patrol office will have a email address for asking questions. Send them the question, and they will let you know what the rules are, and quote the statute.

 

i asked my buddy who is a police officer and he said anything that would be on a cop car ex: red and blue

 

I asked the sheriffs about the underglow that was on my car (had blue) and I was told that I could drive around with them no probem... I drove around Tampa and never once did any of the police tell me anything, but as soon as I got on the highway the Highway police pulled me over and told me any cop color ie: blue or red was not allowed


so I think it is up to the different departments

 

I was wondering, if you could just put normal lights underneath, not neons, but regular white lights. What Ive been told in my area, that no neons are allowed, at any time, anywhere near the car while in motion. Not even inside the car. So if one where to put white bulbs underneath, they wouldnt be neons.

 

i understand it as that if the bulb itself cannot be seen it is legal, regardless of color. although that does not mean that cops will not pull you over and tell you to turn it off. You could fight em, but why, just flip em off and a little later turn em back on.

 

i used to live in fl and had issues w/ this so i looked up info. when parked u can have them on and it can be any color. while driving u can not have any emergency vehicle color on i.e. blue/red/orange. now its up to the descretion of the cop to pull u over for it so while moving if u have that color on they can give u a fix it ticket. hope that helps i had blue and got a fix it ticket so i did some research to make sure.

I live in an area that you can't have anything undercar light wise while moving. Parked they could care less, strobes, neons, whatever.

I was going to put blue on my car. I am wodering how you would fix this ticket? Did you have to take them off the car?

 

Fix it ticket - take them off, then show the judge you have and its usualy dismissed.
I got one for washer LEDs, back when they were still cool, on my old Mazda. Went to court as told and told the judge I had disconnected them. Dismissed.

 

in fl u goto the policed dept and theyll inspect ur car to make sure u did in fact take it off then the ticket is dismissed but u have to pay fees for having it dismissed haha

 

Florida Statutes > Title XXIII > Chapter 316 > § 316.2397 - Certain lights prohibited; exceptions

(1) No person shall drive or move or cause to be moved any vehicle or equipment upon any highway within this state with any lamp or device thereon showing or displaying a red or blue light visible from directly in front thereof except for certain vehicles hereinafter provided.

(2) It is expressly prohibited for any vehicle or equipment, except police vehicles, to show or display blue lights. However, vehicles owned, operated, or leased by the Department of Corrections or any county correctional agency may show or display blue lights when responding to emergencies.

So reading this, you can not have any blue lights displayed ever on your vehicle, you could have red displayed on your vehicle everywhere, but when your car is in motion you can not have red displaying from the front of your vehicle. Hope this helps everyone!:rock:

Neon's are cool.......i'm old'school....My friend on his Honda has white in the front/ yellow-amber on the sides/ and red in the back. It looks very different.

 

Red, Blue, And Green are off limits...
