So this is what im thinking... for those who want to participate, take your car to a certified truck stop or some other official scale and have your car weighed WITHOUT YOU IN IT. take a picture of your weigh receipt and post it in this thread with every single thing you've done to achieve that weight (a list of every item removed/modified to achieve the reduction and/or items that have added weight) as well as an approximation of how much gas you had in your tank during the weigh (1/4, 1/2, full, etc). i will then modify/update my first post to display each participating member's official weight receipt and corresponding mods/weight reductions. what do y'all think?

CTZX3 - thats awesome! Right now my ZX4 sits somewhere in the 23XX lb range but I know thats nothing in the world of weight reductions. Awesome to see some interest in this thread! Keep those numbers coming :D

Im working on mine as we speak. Ive already been deleting some of the harness.
We should compile an thread about all the areas to lose weight in including pics a possibly deleting harness wiring "how to"... Anyone think this is a good idea?

To the OP, are you planning on having a cage? If so I'm sure you're aware the kind of weight it can add.

damn and i was thinking my car was decently light, but i do still have a/c and havent touched the harness. id be interested in reading some threads where people got them into the 2200-2300 range

there are a few threads on the topic, but none have really been updated as far as i can remember... i think i was the last to post in a few of them :D

i thought creating another thread would be cool, especially if it were kept current

My 2000 focus was wreched so I cant really take it to get a pic of the scale for you.
Some things i removed that most people miss are the carpet-30lbs, rear crash beam-15lbs, rear sway bar-9lbs, passenger side air bag-13lbs.

Chris

mine is 2480 lbs.
I feel this is pretty good, considering the limitations of my autocross class FSP.

its a 2004 zx3 2.0 zetec no sunroof
weight reduction 2 kirkey racing seats, 14lb wheels, removed spare tire and jack, but still full interier
weight adders - both strut bars, SVT brakes
future plans - lightweight battery
