always thought their attempts to mask the identity or features of new models was pretty sad...as if to say, yeah, take a pic of me, print it in all your publications....free advertising and hype.
Hi, and thanks for the plug. To answer your question, yes people would notice uncovered cars. We really don't see many of the actual prototypes on the roads. For one the new mark II EU focus has been photographed maybe once or twice max. Most car companies don't like spy photographers and its an never ending battle to cover up cars even more. I am in contact with a few spy photographers, and they keep telling me its becoming more difficult to snap new cars. But since the test engineers are human, they tend to make mistakes and forget to cover up the cars.
