I want to lower the engines placement in my ZX3. I would dry sump it so i could lower the engine down. However...can i do that or is the transaxle in the way? Would the mounts let the engine shift too much?

That will involve some pretty serious custom fabrication. I would be concerned with CV joint failure as well, since the axles would be at a different angle... which would be even worse if the vehicle were also lowered.

If you were building a car for road racing that will never see street duty... and have a massive budget, then it isn't too bad of an idea... that and tilting the engine rearward for better weight distribution.

Bottom line is... I can be done, but I believe it would be harmful and expensive with an everyday Focus.

Get a nice suspension setup, and a poly rear motor mount, and just enjoy it as-is!
