While I am very pleased with the overall look and feel of the stock SVT seats, I'd really like to lower them a bit more (especially the passenger seat which has no height adjustment to begin with). Has anyone done some modifications to simply "drop" the stock seats by using new mounts or brackets?

I can't recall, but I think the brackets are on top of the carpet(?). If so, you could cut out the carpet/insulation under the "feet" of the brackets, mount them to the floor, and lose about 1/2" of height.

I am going to talk with some friends about taking out the seats and cutting some height off the system. If that doesn't seem possible (I won't know until i remove the seats and see what I'm dealing with), I may try to talk to someone like Sparco about modifying their brackets to fit my stock seats.

older mustang guys actually grind out part of the floor and weld a flat piece of metal in to lower the seats some. (also to give more room back)

I don't think your going to get seat frames that will work on the stock seats, everything in there is built in. My aftermarket seats are on the floor practically.

I feel a lot lower with my car dropped about 3"

i have looked into this in the past i think the best solution is aftermarket seats and frames. i like the stock seats also or should i say i like them enough to not go out and buy a set of 1000 dollar seats.

I was wondering about this myself. I hate sitting in the passenger seat when cleaning my car - it feels like I'm in a truck!

I wish both seats would go lower. I sat in a S2000 and LOVED how low I sat, but it was a little tight for me.
