my friend is putting a custom kit on his car and we were wondering if it matters where the mafs is??? does it matter if it is before the turbo or after?

if its the stock or mic kit, before. If it was tuned for it to be placed after, then after (don't see the point of anyone doing this). But i doubt thats the case. So in your case, most likely before.

A MAF is a very sensative unit. IMO it will be alot better BEFORE the turbo.

thats what i was afraid of... i thought that might be the case but the precision turbo kit has it after the turbo... i dotn know if they reworked it or something.. does anyone know?

I beleive the only kit that has a blow through tune is the precision kit.Tom and everyone else use a draw through tuning method.It is easier to tne.From what I have talked to Tom and others about it it sucks to tune a car with a blow through design.So I guess to answer your question put the maf before the turbo.As long as thats what your chip is tuned for.
