If i switch to a 70mm maf housing do i need to get a new maf sensor? or can i use the stock one on the focus?

The sensor is calibrated based on the size of the opening. A larger diameter opening with a stock sensor would lean out the mixture. Of course in closed loop mode the PCM looks at the O2 sensor also to set the mixture. But it does have limits on how much adjustment can be made. Open loop mode would be affected most.

By the way, where is the sensor that came with the housing?

I had my father fabricate a new maf housing for free, and i didn't know if i had to buy a new sensor. where can i buy a new sensor?

It's not quite that simple. You would need a sensor calibrated for the flow through your housing. It would be less expensive just to buy the complete setup.

IF you got a new sensor from ford, it would come with a housing so your free housing would be pointless.
