I recently got a Canon 10D that came with Photoshop LE and I'm trying to make some of the pics I took into backgrounds for my comp...but whatever I do to resize and reshape them it comes out unproportional when I set the wallpaper to stretch...can someone give me a guide to make wallpapers. Thanks...

open a new blank image that is the size of your desktop (1600x1200, 1280x1024, whatever it is) then copy and paste your photo into that new image. if the pic is bigger, then you can either center the part that you like and crop off the rest, or you can resize.

resizing is done by grabbing the corner grip and stretching it. if you hold the shif key while you drag the corner, it will retain its original proportions
