Hope this isn't a dumb question. If I pick up a throttle body now with the intention of getting a forced induction system (don't laugh, probably Jackson) will there be any forseeable problems with pairing up the various kits with an after market TB? I was under the impression that you need forced induction to truely take advantage of a throttle body...maybe Iam puttting the horse before the cart here.

you should really call Jackson Racing; they would know best if some larger TB would be a good investment for more torque or hp with the Eaton supercharger. If you were thinking about our setup, we'd say stay stock because we know that works.

thanks buddy, you know the AC is always at the back of my mind. I want LESS upgradability, but maybe I should consider the stage 1. There must be tons of perps like me that can't make up there mind...

Somewhere I read that Oscar Jackson suggested we get rid of the "peashooter" throttle body that comes on the Focus. It's my next performance mod to compliment my JRSC.

isn't the tb upstream of the Jackson supercharger? if so, it is likely to be more of a restriction than on any turbo kit, where the turbo compresses air and then blows it through the tb-- in a blow-through turbo system at 8 psi a stock tb would act like it's about 50% larger in diameter (you math guys can figure that out exactly).

The TB sits on the back of the SC. You're not sugggesting the 65MM TB would be more restrictive than the OEM TB are you? Or are you simply comparing the turbo to the SC?

If my memory serves me correctly (it probably isn't) I measured the opening on th JRSC at 60mm or 62mm. I'm considering enlarging it 65mm to match the TB.

I'm wondering if the larger throttle body would hurt the engine using a turbo I don't think it would. I think it might help the Aerocharger get more horsepower at higher rpms, though without that pesky automatic transmission-blowing torque

What I mean is that maybe it might still only get 220ft/lb at the wheel but it may get 220whp instead of 200whp

Oh and hey,I'm considering the Aerocharger now! I'm disregarding the anti-AC advice of my friend who claims to know everything about turbos and my own bias against turbocharging.
