This is what he is talking about. I am interested in the ford part # too.
Shifter Assembly
EDIT: Oops!! Didn't see the link up there.
CALEB TO THE RESCUE!!!!!! (maybe)

part number ys4z-7220-ga retail: 26.00 bucks

this part number brings up the same base for all years, with the MTX75 So unless Ford just started making them in metal you may end up getting a plastic one instead...dunno though...order one and find out!
it's from a cougar. F5RZ or F8RZ...can't recall. I'll check it monday

the one the focus central sells is metal, FC does not make it, i got it few months back and it had a manufactor date of 1998, and made in germany. its 85 bucks and well worth it. The one for 26 is the composite one.
Bump

Did anyone ever find this part number?
I think Tekkin needs to take his console off and find a part number for us! Then I can get the part from my U.K. supplier!

ill get to it, another nice thing about the metal one is, that little plastic clip that every one breaks when putting in a new shifter, its not there, they used a c clip.
EDIT: Got my information messed up - here's the new info. This is for a European Focus shifter assembly (including an all metal bracket).

The part number on my shifter is XS4R 7K387 FD (according to the sticker). That is all-metal.

The part has now superseded to XS4R 7K387 HC. Trevor at fordpartsuk.com is looking up the info on the part to confirm this newer part is also all metal.

Here is the info on the newer part:
Ford Focus Gear Shift Lever and bracket
Part Number: 1138178 (XS4R 7K387 HC)

Prices are listed here. Or, you can visit fordpartsuk.com and punch up the part number to get prices and order your own. You can also send Trevor an e-mail at [email protected]

This is good info, thanks for all the leg work.

Is XS4R 7K387 HC the part number I can take to the local parts counter or is this a number that will only be relevent in Europe?
you will only be able to get that part number up in Europe.
I will see about carrying these so people could get them without paying the U.K. shipping. But don't count on that happening anytime soon.
focuscentral carries them there the only people who do in the US.
NECRO POSTING~~ LOL

Does anyone know if this part is still available anywhere? Yes googled it. Yes I checked focuscentral.com and there site is down for redesign. Not even sure they are still in business...

Thanks.
Focus Central has been out of business for something like 5 years now. Some of their parts got snagged up by Steeda, CFM, and some other retailers, but I don't think something like this is available by any other manufacturer.
Ok, thanks. As you can tell, I have not been tuning in a while.

I just broke my 3rd shifter base, and was hoping to find a better one. And they are getting more expensive from dealer...$65 freaking bucks now. The other two were in the $20's. And of course, I cannot wait to have one shipped, I gots to drive to work..lol

Thanks again for the quick reply!!
