Mini Cooper Letter in Grassroots Motorsports

Did anyone catch the letter in this months issue about Mini's? The guy was talking about how it is a travesty that you can race a Mini in (I think) the Showroom Stock H (??) class because it outhandles even hugely modified cars. I think its true, but it is a stock car so it should get to race.

My dads stock Mini sadly outhandles my Focus with $500+ in suspension mods. This guy said that a newbie to Autocrossing with a stock Mini came close to beating his modified car and he has years of experience. Just thought I'd share, it seemed really amusing to me.

They really do handle well.

They also are so easy to drive that an idiot can do well in one. I've driven one at four National level events, and won a total of $1320 and two new Hoosiers. MiniUSA money rules.

They are great, but and experience Road Racer that ways like 275lbs and has one said its like "wrestling a gorrila in a phone booth."
I'm 5'10" and 210lbs, and they fit me really well.
Yea, my dads 6'4'' probably ~260lbs and he likes it. He doesn't race it though.

I think eventually he's going to ditch it for a Crossfire or somthing.

5"11 and 260... And I can fit in em quite nicely as well.

Had I the money... yah it'd be on my list.
Im 5'18"
...225. Fits me well too; better legroom than the Focus, but less headroom (our MINI has a moonroof, my Focus does not).

I fit ok, my wife likes the car because she's short @ 5'0 103lbs. But we ended up going with a A3, but i look at those little cars for my commute...

I can't see over the steering wheel

A nice big Sorbothane pad should solve that.

6' 1''` and 210 and no problems fitting behind the wheel.

They drive like they are on rails. Better than my Focus with aftermarket shocks and springs.
I love everything about a Mini except the interior gauges. I hope they lose the circle look... I know that flys in the face of tradition, but damn I feel like I'm in a go kart with such an interior.
