Yep, another car we won't see, but man it sounds interesting:

Mitsubishi announces Evo VIII FQ330
The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII just gets quicker and quicker; replacing the special edition FQ300 (see link below) is a new model, the 330bhp, 315lb ft FQ330. FQ, by the way, is said to stand for [censored]ing Quick, and that's no joke - the FQ330, with its turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, will certainly better the FQ300's 0-60 time of 4.4 seconds, though no official performance figures have been released yet.

To get an extra 30bhp, the FQ330 has a supplementary ECU hardwired to the FQ300 engine management system and a revised waste-gate actuator ferrule, which increases turbo boost at peak pressure. The new car costs from £31,999, but if you've just shelled out for a FQ300 and haven't yet modified it yourself, Mitsubishi's Ralliart dealers will upgrade FQ300s for £1500 (plus VAT). The job takes two hours and will be fully warranted. The FQ330 will be distinguished, however, by new black alcantara/leather seats and special badging; each will be individually numbered. FQ330 models will also feature standard Smart Nav satellite navigation.

Jeez, the boost is already high on those, and they're turning it up more? How much can the stock turbo take?

Unfortunately not the assembly line, in order to get around the UK laws, the FQ models are upgraded at the dealership. But they do come with full warranty.
What are the current 8's pushing in terms of boost?

19.5 psi at 3,500 rpm and 16.5 psi at 6,500 rpm where they reach full hp.

So basically what the upgrade probably does is keep it consistantly at 19.5.

A bunch of folks over at evom are consistantly running at 21 psi with no negative effects as of yet.

that leaves you literally no room to turn it up, boost wise. Sounds like the company is selling a basically maxed out car.

according to many "proffesionals" on focaljet, BOOST IS BOOST, so there is just no other way to make more power...lol

nevermind those guys with upgraded turbos runing 450whp on evo8's at 20psi...
