Re: Moble One or Amsoil?

And now there's Mobil 1 RACING.
I'm using 0W-30 because there were six qts. left over that a customer left to my friend's BMW shop.

I can't find it easily and I haven't looked online for distibutors, either; but it has more zinc (something manufacturers/refiners are using less of these days because of emissions) which is a worthy extreme pressure additive.

Extreme pressure additives fight wear where there is no oil pressure, like cam lobe/lifter, or cam lobe/DAMB (direct acting mechanical bucket).

I want more of it. I think it's the shizznit, that's fo sho.

I use amsoil in my focus, mobil one in the wife's car. both are very good oils.

Try AVLube - that's where I gets mine.

I'll have to agree with that: Amsoil is probably the best oil out there but for the price & convenience, Mobil 1 is fine.

Just use which ever one is easier for you to get ahold of, there are both superior oils and will perform the same. I use Mobil because it's easy to find.
the amsoil distributor near me said they dont make a filter for the focus, so i just use motorcraft.he told me the fram toughguards i used to use were bad qualtiy, so i guess motorcraft is the best available filter for me.

Sure they do, SDF-34........im pretty sure thats the number. I change mine like every 11k or so with that filter and the amsoil. L8er Jon
the motorcraft filter is a very good filter. Please dont use any fram filters unless you like a filter that uses glue to hold it together.

Yeah but if you want the one that's built with the same specifications as the Purolator and Motorcraft filters (almost the samething Purolator makes Motorcraft) then get the HASTING's filter. I think they make the filters for AMSOIL. Only difference with the AMSOIL and hastings is the AMSOIL will hold more dirt and has 1 Anti Drainback valve as opposed to the 2 that it should have.
