For those of you who bored out the stock throttle body, did anyone shave down the lip on the butterfly plate? That thing has got to cause turbulance and restrict airflow. - Anybody think I shouldn't? I'm getting out the Dremel to open up my factory TB. (2001 ZX3, 5-spd). Thanks.

I had a guy who builds race engines tell me I should grind that thing off but I never did. I may still if I don't get a focus central TB soon.

From speaking with a Ford Tech who is into mods.. He said to leave the lip as it is necessary to cause a little turbulance that helps the velosity
of the air flow in this design....
I am not certain... but unless I had a spare TB in the wings, I would tend to be conservative and leave it....

old 'race-only' trick on high end carbs. people like barry grant do that on their high end pieces. not somethin 2 b done w/a dremel home-brew style. dont bother w/it here, 2 much 2 mess up 4 so lil gain.
