Heres a pic of a $20 part that fails about every 30k miles leading to catastrophic engine failure!!!

Heres what catastrophic engine failure looks like, broken chain, both cams shot, cracked head, valves a mess, and two pistons bent...

Everything has been upgraded, and is going for tuning and dyno tomorrow. Expected whp around 240 with an NA 4 banger.

Those are rock guards. The factory original ones are clear. I have 12 mil vinyl that I cut using the factory outlines and made them myself... Porsche charges over $300 for the six stickers...
Who on earth told you that cam chains need no maintanence??? Maybe on a focus, not on a Porsche. Every 30k miles requires new water pump, all new belts, new rollors, new cam chain tensioner... Not cheap cars to run, but definately worth it! Just dynoed at 234hp and 256ft lb. torque.

You dweeb. Rods bend, pistons crack or break.

(I kid because I CARE...

I suppose you could oval a piston if you set it on the ground and run a semi over it or something...

I had an '85 944 a few years back and if it weren't for the fact that the thing was in the shop every 2 months' and my mechanic never seemed to fix it competantly, I'd probably still have it!! The cars are extrememly balanced and tight....even with the '85s 145 horse it still pulled pretty well. I can't imagine what that extra power would feel like in that car but it must be fun!! (BTW - my 944 had 165000 kms so it was a fairly well used car...I'm sure had I sprung for a lower mileage car it'd not been such a pita!) The bonus of these is you do get semi-exotic sports car performance at a budget price but you gotta do your homework finding the right one......I still would like a nice late 80s 944 Turbo!!
