Ok I have had a few problems like others on the Jet here, like “Dealer put in the wrong oil” and “like pulling teeth to get a rental”. This all changed after visiting the VP of the dealership. I’ve had some time off work and decided to go say a few things.
Just as a side note, I will give people a chance and was on the verge of writing Ford about the problems at the dealership I’ve been going to, but was willing to go through the process of fallowing the chain of command (after butting heads with the service manager) to solve this before going further.
I told the VP strait out all the problems, like I mentioned before plus others and was treated with a great deal of respect and trust. I was dew for a bit more warranty work and wanted it to go smoothly. The DSI cable clip was broken and they were going to pull the piece off one on the lot for me but the part came in the next day after speaking with them. I was concerned about replacing the whole intake for a tiny clip because the car was working great otherwise, and they replaced the part off the new one (just the small sprocket thing with the plastic knob), with ease apparently, and had my car back to me in 4 hours! To top it off the VP gave me his car (same as my car but an 03). We exchanged keys and that was it. No paper work to deal with, VP escort through the service center and a properly fixed car that was in excellent shape afterwards.
The real test will be in future visits, but The VP said to bring my car to him if any problems arise and he will take care of it.
Oh yea, The VP investigated the oil filter conundrum and the 2005 is the right one. It gets complicated but the part number changed on similar engines (ST 170 and RS) and some how the one that comes on the SVTF, off the show room floor, is this European number. The translated US number is the 2005. The VP gave me the papers he researched (internet and direct current ford part numbers) and makes sense now despite the different source info that is contradictory, even by the admission of the dealer VP.
