Mustang forum idiots...

So I recently bought and subsiquently sold a 2002 GT and, of course, did a few mods to it in the year I owned the car. As with any leftover parts I decided to sell them on a popular Mustang website and I am absolutely shocked at how different the Mustang crowd really is from you Focus guys.

Sure, from time to time there have been some folk on these boards who left a lot to be desired, but these guys take the cake! Seriously I have never experienced more whiney, cheapskate sons of bitches in my life! AND I WORK IN CAR RENTALS!!! Every buyer has sent me a "im reportn u 2 the police" if I didn't respond in less than a six hour timeframe. Holy ****, do any of them know what it's like to work a full-time job??? Most potential buyers have low-balled me beyond what I would consider reasonable asking for me to take $50 shipped for items I was asking $100 + shipping and cost over $200 new.

Now I have one guy who bought the most expensive item (a pair of wheels and tires) disputing with Paypal that I did not say PAIR in the ad. My only issue, and this is my fault entirely, is that I deleted the ad body and wrote "SOLD" when I got the payment because simply responding with a new post that said "sold" still caused a flood of emails from people who don't read even the first post in its entirety.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do here, but I basically gave him these wheels/tires and feel he should have little recourse. I ended up agreeing to $300 shipped for a pair of wheels that cost $150/ea new with tires that cost $130/ea new and had about 500 miles/one month total useage AND cost $50.46/ea to ship. So I made $199.08 on a pair of wheels that cost me $620 new plus shipping to me plus mounting/balancing plus shipping to him. All things told he paid NOTHING for this and he's still disputing that I ripped him off.

Am I insane for thinking that someone who thinks they are getting a full SET of wheels/tires for $199 is ****ing nuts????

^^^ what he said.

If theres a dispute with paypal then show them the listing and if you posted pain then that means 2. I sold my enkei rims from my 2nd neon way back for $100 for all 4 but they had major curb damage & all the tires were bald. If yours were in decent shape then they are retarded to think they can get away with low ballin.

Theyre probably just jealous because most of the FI cars here can beat their ponies.

I see what you said about them not reading the whole first post.

I believe my response to all of them would have been "No thanks I'll find somebody else to buy my parts" and sent their money back to them.

the vast majority of Mustang board member are idiots! When I sell stuff on their boards, I always run into problems with people wanting me to cut the price down to practically nothing and pay for the shipping. The guys who post anywhere outside of the road racing/auto-x forums are terrible.

I think your likely to find retards anywhere...I've sold a couple items on themustangsource.com and it was easy with no hassles.

I agree with SilverSVT on this one, you find idiots anywhere.

I gave up on selling my AEM CAI. I list it at an awesome price for what it is (heavily used) and then people ask me to drop the price even more. Then when I agree and think I have a buyer it never comes through. I've found it easier to sell more expensive things over these forums which is STUPID.

At least half the people you buy or sell stuff from/to over the internet will suck. This is a fact of life. Don't expect different results anywhere.

The most common issue is either late payment or shipment or differences in opinion on what the condition of the used item is.

I try to avoid it at all costs, but the internet is a great way of reaching a broad audience.

This Thread is worthless without the link to the Mustang Forum.

Oh thats BS. I am a Proud Member of Stangnet.com that site is a great place to get Mustang info just like Focaljet is a great site for the Focus.

There's nothing to see in the link and I'd rather not get the forum involved overall. It's probably one of the more popular boards so that narrows it down to one of just a few with pretty much the same people who post.

Actually everything worked out ok and we came to an agreement that he did indeed read the ad wrong. It was clearly his mistake and not my own and he admitted it and withdrew the dispute. Honestly after he calmed down he was totally cool about admitting he didn't read the ad properly.

However you guys are right, you will run into this anywhere.

As for my replacement car... dun dun dun

1990 classic red Mazda Miata. It cost $2000, it's easy as hell to work on, and I can park it ANYWHERE downtown. I couldn't care less about the overall condition and it's a really fun car to drive. I just got tired of worrying about parking my Mustang a few blocks away from my house almost every night in downtown Baltimore. So I bought something that is fun, but won't break my heart if something happens to it. It's like dating a somewhat ugly chick.

Stangnet has a few more retards than Corral. I used to live on the Corral when I had my LX.

As for your situation, that guy is a retard. Good luck dealing with someone who thinks 1+1=3.

Lowballing isn't bartering....

Bartering is getting goods for service.......Lowballing is just ignorance.

Hey I resemble that! But really, when I sell something I honestly try to sell it at a decent price. Then at a certain time, I've WASTED so much effort I just want it out. I have a few people lowball me, I just tell them no. If they presist then I ignore them for being a persistent prick.

There are good and bad in all. AND never leave a single DIME in paypal at all. I've been burned before and I won't ever do it again.
Anyways good luck
