Ah to be young and... well i guess cars are always personal and a work in progress.

But take a look around this site, its members and their rides. You'll find that some of the best looking cars are OEM inspired and kept clean. Its your ride, but im sure with a little immersion into [FJ] and you will love the Mr. Clean(er) side of things ;)

So Welcome, good luck and have fun with your first car!

Well said.

Thanks man, very nice of you
I've been to some local gatherings and I can admire a car far being exterior mods now
It's my first car and I do want it to look nice, but for now thats it
I don't wanna mess with the engine and **** it up just because I wanna play to be "Dom" or "Brian O'Conner"
I love my focus and for now I'm trying to keep it clean, running, and real :D

Ill have to get another trunk because the wing its drill to the trunk
If you do get tired of the wing, I bet you could find another kid with a red sedan that would swap you trunks, haha.

eh well in that case i might just say keep it there.. after all it is unique, and its all about you liking your car, not what anybody else on here says! i have a little flare in me for the fast and furious look too sometimes, i.e. my exhaust thats getting put on soon! (HKS muffler at an angle kinda like the OBX's made for the zx3s)

Funny thing is... When I put my turning signal BOTH the stock turning signal and the ones on my headlights turn on. I'll have to get an Euro grill yes

I think we have the same ones :p
I found mine on craigslist

Also, I already cleared the wing thing. It's my first car I went for the "Fast and Furious" look before going deep into what a car should look like

I'm a college student and might, MIGHT be getting a job @ Abercrombie soon which means I have low-to-no money to be getting big mods to the car
Also like the title says, I've had this car for 2 months, 2 and a half roughly

Thanks for the comments advice, please keep them coming

I'll say this, if you like it, stick with it. Everyone has different tastes and most people on here like that clean subtle look, like me, some like a bit more show which is cool. I like the look of the spoiler as long as the rest of the car compliments it.

Lights look good, but the euro grill is a must. Get the kit you want and painted, debadge the trunk, paint the handles and be on your way. Dont let people tell you what to do with your car. Search around for pics to get the look you like and go for it.

First things first, Welcome to FJ!

I know people have already given you bad reviews about the wing and neons.....but hey, this reminds me of my first car which was a 1994 Eagle Talon 1.8 SOHC Automatic. I did the whole neon, painted interior (but it came out horribly wrong), and wasted some money on the engine. When it came time to run down at the track, all of my buddies had really high hopes of me gettin a high 16. Well, 19.75 seconds later, I was headed towards the gate with my tail between my legs so to say.

Basically what I'm tryin to say is, enjoy the car for what it is, mod it how you see fit, and as others have said, check out the Exterior Modification section for some inspiration. Happy modding!

On a side, note, while I'm remembering from that far back, let me give you a bit of an analogy that one of my buddies told me once:

Doing the whole "All Show and No Go" way of modding is kind of like a nasty piece of candy with an awesome wrapper. Sure, the outside looks good, but you soon find yourself with a nasty taste left in your mouth.

(I say that in reference to my Talon, and my time at the track)

Thanks everybody for the advice
Like I said I did rush into doing mods that I thought were "cool" but being on [FJ] opened my mind to new styles and I'm learning so much
I will try to mod my car according to the time, money and resources that I have

Please keep this thread going

yea man glad you're learning! That's what the whole car modding deal is all about, the experience of it! when I was new here (which I still kinda am) i always thought the whole Japanese tuning deal was way cooler than anything.. But half a year later I'm in love with euro OEM stuff from everyone on here and seeing their whips
