My dealer is terrible at serviceing even their own people WTF?

My car has been in my dealership that I work at for a little over 2 weeks now, due to them repairing my car incorrectly once, and second time for destroying my door panel and some other parts they broke. I have no weight in managing any one I am simply the owner of the dealers assistant, but I am friends with all the managers of the diffrent departments and stuff. I dont know how I should go about conveying my incredible disatifaction on the service that has been done to my car. The technician that I got was an absolutle unproffessional person and didnt put the car together right here a list of what he did wrong.

-when removing dash put a 4" gash in door panel
-When putting center council back on they tore the leather on my SVT ebrake.
-When putting coucil back in put didnt seat shift boot
-Didnt reconnect the reverse lockout
-A/c knobs have damage from being attacked with a screw driver
-broke CD door on driver side
-Excessivly dirty, oil and dirt smudges and prints on my fenders, windows and sterring wheel,
-Stained red stiching on shifter from dirt all over
-Didnt install HVAC controls right
-Heat doesnt work
-Now that it is in for heater fix which they broke they broke more and now parts are on back order
-The door panel is on back order and they fudged my painted panels that I removed with out f'ing them up.
-Gve me a rental car that not only eats a [censored] load of gas but was uncleaned, smoked in, heavily offroaded to wear at 10K miles squeakes rattles, AC doesnt work, ABS is on as is brake light, check engine light, and it rough starts really bad, and its a 2005 F150 for christ sakes!

-In all I am un-impressed with the lack of attention payed to repairing 1 problem. Because of the mechanics lack of care and attention in doing what his job is.

I know I can go to the service manager or my boss and have the guy fired but Id rather have him written up for costign the company so much money in having to fix all the crap he messed up or have his pay docked or something. I just dont know how to do it. I work with the service manager but Im not above them so I dont know how to suggest he be reprimanded without being a jackass about it and telling him how worried I am that if they treat one of there ownes car like this that I cant imagine what they do to other peoples car that they dont notice

Go straight to the top. Go over the service manager, go to the dealership owner. Tell them how your car was handled, and you are extremely disappointed in the way they handle a co-worker's car, and are fearful of what they would do to Joe Customer's car when they bring it in for service.

Handling cars in that manner is not a good way to get repeat business.

I am simply the owner of the dealers assistant
Ok, so you're the assistant to the dealership owner, right? Is that what that means?

Talk to your boss.
Re: My dealer is terrible at serviceing even their own people WT

Talk to the owner about that one. What crappy service.
I would be really careful in how you approach this, especially if you want to continue working there. It sounds dumb, but by you piping up, you could be conceived as making trouble. Suddenly, your "friends" as managers start giving you the crap jobs and your coworkers look at you in a bad light (maybe you can get them nixed too...and for a major or minor thing).

If you work with the guy, why not talk to him first? That covers the first base in having a direct problem with the actual employee who did the work. Most companies have "problem resolution" guidelines in place, especially if there is a union. If that fails, talk to the Service Manager and tell him you will go to the Owner for this extreme f-up.

In doing so, I would also start to look for work at another dealership. It sounds drastic, but you have to look out for yourself, in case you inadvertently get burned.
I've done it before myself. I had a problem with a Ford dealer on my old Crown Vic. It had an electrical problem, took it in to get fixed, it came back, still had the problem, so I started with the service manager, they checked it out again for free, said they found nothing. So I just went straight to the dealership owner, told him what happened, and he made them fix it until it was right, and didn't charge me a damn thing for it. Turns out the idiot tech who worked on the car didn't bother to check the battery in his electrical system check. The battery had a small crack in it, so they basically replaced the entire electrical system, battery, alternator, and almost all the underhood wiring in the car. It may make you look like a dick by going to the owner, but, sometimes if you want results, it's what you gotta do, plus it will point out to them their employees who aren't doing their jobs right.

The service tech was laughing at your freshly waxed eyebrows and couldn't concentrate!

I would talk to the owner.

Yeah dude, think about it: you work for the guy that owns the friggin dealership. And it sounds like he is somewhat of a family friend (from your other post about tearing up his Mercedes) - talk to him!
going to the dealer for service? That'll learn ya.

I am good friends with the owner but when people go to him people get fired, I dont want the dude fired just reprimanded so he does things right. None of the people at the dealer can actually fire me sence im not a part of the ford dealership I just work for the guy that ownes it and frequent all his dealerships so I know all the "higher up" people, I know a couple cool salesman names and a few techs but not the one that worked on my car.

I think ill just have a talk with the service manager sence I dont think he is aware of the situation and express my concern, no one can fire me but vern and he not gunna do that over my own car being screwed up.

Hell, if you don't technically work for the dealership, then why not go to the owner and get people fired? If people don't do their jobs correctly, ultimately, it will end up costing them their job sooner or later, why not save other customers from the same fate as your car suffered at the hands of a crappy tech at that dealer?

Then I would suggest that you explain that to the owner that he should be reprimanded not terminated. This is your personal car and you are a customer so if a tech isn't doing something correctly it needs to be brought to someone higher up.

Ok if you are the assistant of the OWNER of a company, and you go to get service done on your car, I would HOPE that an employee is on there best behavior. If they screw up with someone so close to the owner, I cant imagine what they would do to a customer’s car. If you say something to the owner and the person does get fired you would just be speeding up the unavoidable.
Re: My dealer is terrible at serviceing even their own people WT

what I would do is go to the owner and have people fired. that tech will not learn a lesson from being repremanded. he will do things correctly untill the heat is off, then back to the same ol' ways. I used to work for a dealership and I have watched things like this happen all the time. you can do all the customers of that dealership a favor by making that tech dissaper. also it shouldent matter that you work for the owner of the dealership. at this point you are a customer, they should be doing everyting in there power to satisfy the customer(not saying give you the world just everything they can do to fix your car in a timely manner). call me crazy but destroying your car doesent sound like there satisfying the customer.
Re: My dealer is terrible at serviceing even their own people WT

I dont know the tech and I dont think many people know my car because I dont really frequent the service dept. So I think they just treated it just like a customers car. Being that I assist the owner and that when people ask to speak to the owner they get me to yell at I think I will go back into my files on complaints and see how many times the guy has caused us issues. If he has done carles repair on several cars then he is costing us money we dont need to spend and Im sure vern will hate hearing that. I just have pause about getting him fired because he may have a family or whatever you know, but then again I think if he didnt care if he destroyed my car then why should I care if I get him fired?

Totally unacceptable. Id say find another store

If it's the same guy that did the damage that you've listed in your very first post, then throw that [censored] to the freaking curb like the trash that he is.

definatly do some reaserch. this will impress your boss as well. and show that you are willing to take the iniative even though it is your car you are talking about. also your boss may even decied to look more in to any other cars that have been serviced by this tech. for q.c. purposes.

good luck

YaY! I got my car back, everything is fixed but get his [censored]!?!

The mechanic lost one of my center caps, so obvoisly he hasnt learned a thing!

In my research I found this guy is amazingly lazy I personally watched as he dilly dallied all day today and he has messed up over 10 cars and the service writers all arent impressed with his performance sence they are the first one to hear [censored] if stuff isnt done right. I have to be in a meeting tommarow with him, I think I will talk about it with vern and show him how much money he has cost us due to his lackidasical care of cars he supposed to fix and not brake more. I myself hopefullly will be present when he's fired. Im so in aww at this careless idiot it amazeses me I felt woried about firing him.
