Hey, I'm gonna pull my airbags today. I know somebody posted the actual airbag removal pages from the service manual. Anybody know where that post is? I searched but can't find it.

I just want to know the electrical proceedure for safe removal and storage. I've already been hit twice with airbags, don't need another!

Mustang has 4 10 mm screws (might have been nuts) holding it to the steering wheel. You have to stand on your head to find them, they are recessed WAAAY in there on the back side of the steering wheel. Then just disconnect the wire to hub.
Don't try to pry it off.....

Don't ask how I know

But they are Expensive to replace.

I already know about the fasteners, since I've removed blown bags before. But I'm just wondering about the electrical side of it...

I thinks it's as easy as disconnecting the battery for some period of time.

I think I also remember that you should short the circuit after they're out (put a wire across the pins on the bag). This way they can't blow from some freak static electricity.

Step one, disconnect the battery.
I don't know anything about the passenger's side, but the driver's side has four 5.5mm bolts. They don't come all the way out, but once they are loosened completely, you just pull on the airbag assembly until it comes off. The lower side has a "clip-like" aspect to it that you must pull loose. Don't worry, it won't break.
Once that clip pulls loose, you just disconnect the cable and it's off.

Anybody wanna buy some bags?

I wonder how much I can get for them. I've heard $500, but I'd hope for more than that. What do they go for new?

I wonder if I could get $1000 if I remove everything, including the brain, etc...

Papa wants some new seats!

This must being a passing fad. I just pulled mine on Monday night. The driverside was easy the passengerside was a bear. We ended up ruining the dash flap that goes over the bag. It weighs a ton, I was shocked. I did mine as prep for pulling the dash for next weekends cage install.
