When I was driving my zx3 last night and I lost major power. I had no acceleration, I put the pedal to the metal and it did not respond the way it normally does. It felt like the car was running out of gas...tank was full. The car idles fine and sounds the same with less power. 1st gear sux now...so slow. please help???

Maybe something went wrong with your spark plugs or maybe your wires.

Sounds like the cat maybe clogging up. I understand that many of the 2000 model year Focus had issues with the cat.

If you unbolt the cat and start the car and it revs up like it used to, then I would say that the cat was the culprit.

Or, you could take it to your dealer for them to diagnose.

Any check engine lights?

just the stupid airbag light wont shut off since I changed my tachs, I dont think its the CAT. I think i have ignition problems ever since i put in ford racing wires.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I replaced two fuel pumps within 4 months.
I'd have them check the fuel pump & the relay for the fuel pump.

made an appt. to get the cat uncloged.. I hope this is the answer???

This sounds like the same problem I had. It seemed like the car wasn't getting any gas , and it turned out the fuel pump was bad. The focus seem to have a problem with the fuel pumps.

if they tell me there is nothing wrong with the CAT. im gonna get the fuel pump checked out. if the pump is broken how much for a new one? factory? Aftermarket? Install? any help

took it to midas today and they said the CAT was fine. They said to go to FORD. The CAT does not smell. Maybe its my fuel pump...? I made an appt. on tuesday. If its not the pump or the CAt than what is it?
