New car settled, back in a duratec.

I'm going to be getting the MarcyMotorsport beast. The intake manifold and the header have been set back to stock, a borla 2.5" will be going on and it's running crane 1's for now. The 3's were just too big for a driver, but I'll probably drop 2's into it. In that trim it should be making 170whp and about the same torque.

The car is in paint right now getting sanded then a fresh coat of dupont single stage black. I'll take delivery once Walter gets back from SEMA.

Right now I'm trying to decide what I want to do with suspension, not easy given the multitude of options available. I'm leaning towards koni's and racesprings at the moment.

I'm not sure where I'm going to go from here. If I wanted to I'm sure I could pull off a 2.5 liter this winter. I'm really not wanting to do a header, it makes the duratec way too loud and it's a little too illegal for me. I'd do a cosworth intake manifold if they got approval.

Excellent, Brian, sounds like a happy ending. (And OOOH how I like happy endings
)

Who makes a 2.5 liter? Reminds me of my little 944, sigh!

Make sure you drive a car with that setup for a week or two before you make that commitment. It's a stiff ride for daily driving.
Then again, you're like 2 decades younger than I am, so you probably won't even notice.

Glad you got it all worked out. Jolly Roger here we come!

That's GIVE a stiff ride.
It is pretty stiff.... one reason I bought another daily driver....

I must have the back of a 46 year old...

You may want to take a look at the Multimatic developed Focus spec set from FRPP. May well have one running at Buttonwillow. Streetable with good track performance

I5 Focus ST engine
Nope, it'd be a resleeved 2.3 with new pistons.

This motor already has a balanced and blueprinted rotating assembly.

SWEET!!!

And, to the other post: Is that I5 engine based on the Volvo S40???
Don,

Yes. It is the same motor as far as I know.

Volvo's T5.
