In today's dollars, what's the most you would spend on a NEW car, providing you had the available funds?

45,000. Unless I won the lottery. Then I would buy whatever the hell I wanted. Unless it went over 500,000. Then I would just walk in with an assload of cash, DEMAND a test drive, and then proceed to inform the dealer of every single way that the vehicle was NOT at all worth that crazy price!:D:thumbup:

Providing I had the funds? Why would I limit myself? If I had the funds to get a Veyron, I'd get a Veyron.

if we're talkin a DD, then...
-maybe- 28k or so, and that's just cause i want a mustang.
more likely around 20 or less, cause of gas mileage.

If we're talkin anything then probably max 150k or so, anything over is just too much.

If I had the money...I would have my $40k 1-Series coming right now, along with my $60k Lotus, Vette, and various other cars. :p

Would never ever buy new. Worst money move you can make. Would rather retire at 40 than own a "new" car. $15,000 tops on a car no older than 5 years and no newer than 2 model years older than the current one.

But to play along about $90,000 for Saleen Stage 3.

The question is so badly posed as to be meaningless. Want to try again Ron?
yeah, i kinda agree with Cheaper here (mark this day, lol).

overall, though, i think i've come to the conclusion that, at this point in my life, i'd rather own (4) $5000 cars than one $20K car. i just have too many likes to choose just one. at one point not too long ago i had my GTO, my bike, and my truck. i was a happy camper, but i've since sold the truck and pretty much regret ever since. and yes, i know the GTO is much more than a $5K vehicle, but in hindsight, i would much rather have a 10 yr old Mustang i could tinker with and throw money at rather than a $400/mo car payment that i won't see the end of until after i likely have my first kid.

Looking at your sig, are you planning on waiting a few years to pick up your 08 Challenger for $15k?

Haha, all it says is "to come". Nothing about me buying one.

Look at the value of the other two cars in the signature.

I would never buy an $40,000 automatic muscle car.
