Went to the track last weekend after Walter installing Stage 3 cams on my car. Only could muster another [email protected] The mph is great but should have been more like 107. Here are my time slips from last month and last week.

06/18/05 07:35pm
R/T --- .191
60' --- 2.190
330' --- 6.164
1/8 --- 9.190
mph --- 82.70
1000 --- 11.810
1/4 --- 13.988
mph --- 103.99

07/09/05 07:35pm
R/T --- .137
60' --- 2.336
330 --- 6.217
1/8 --- 9.209
mph --- 86.21
1000 --- 11.789
1/4 --- 13.938
mph --- 105.51

I backed it up with 2 more 13.9 at right at 105. Now here's the deal I think the stage 3's are too much cam for the car being that my rev limit is at 7100 due to my stock clutch and flywheel. The car yanks real hard from 5500-7000, but the cams are designed to pull till 8000, so Im only using 60% of the cams potential. I will probably swap them out for 2's with aggresive cam timing or try to get a clutch.

And i believe my 60' times have dropped do to tire wear. I have almost 20,000 on those tires now. If I would have been able to get a 2.1 that day I would have got a 13.5 for sure, but couldnt pull it off.

If you look at my 1/8 mph you will see its 4mph faster than the previous month with the new cams, so you would think that I would have crossed at 108mph. What happens is when I shift into 4th I am too low in RPM to be within the stage 3 cams power band so it falls off a little before it starts pulling really hard again.

And all of this was done on 91 cali Arco and street tires, stock clutch, stock diff, stock IM. Maybe I should nut up and spend a grand on clutch flywheel and buy the cossi manifold and leave the 3's in. But I would bet money that if I put the stage 2's in, some 100 octane and use the 75 shot I will be able to cross at 110mph and with that mph I could run 12.5-12.6's all day long on slicks.

I WILL GET A 12 SEC ET BEFORE OR ON FUN FORD WEEKEND AT THE SPEEDWAY IN OCT!!!! GUARANTEED!

Yes it was with N2o kind of have to use it everytime and report the numbers back to Venom. If you want to put in percpective how hard the car pulls now. I reeled in and passed an 05 GTO with the 400hp motor. He had me a car off the line and i made up the car and pulled another car passed him. He aslo ran a [email protected]

I was going to make an all motor pass, but when it came up to my last run the announcer changed the group to grudges only and like 200 cars went to the staging lanes before I was ready, cause I just ran my SRT. I didnt want to wait another hour and a half to run so I took the slicks off the SRT and we drove home.

I was happy with the MPH but not the ET. The MPH is good for 6 or 7th best on the top 10 list. SO with the slicks and clutch I am gunning for the top 3 fastest Foci

You should be running 13.7-13.9 @ 98-101 MPH all Motor on street tires. Maybe that says something about our gearing. I am not an expert, but Hondas with similar power to weight ratio run those numbers on a very good day.

Thaks!

well i'm sure the major issue for you is the diff...you need a quaife man...i think 4.06s are a bit much if you already have traction issues but with slicks...

I have swapped my gears out for 3.82's already.

Focus Central's white car was there the one that was in HCI. It has all the same bolt ons it had then plus clutch and 4.06 gears and sct tune and drag radials. It went [email protected] Dave doesnt own it anymore another FC guy bought the car off Dave.

Well I got 14.4 before I had raised compression, BS delete, TF delete, SCT tune. 3.82's, stage III cams. I have probably added almost 40hp since the 14.4 all motor I would like to think I could get a 14.0-13.9 at 99-100 now all motor.

I might make some all mtor runs at Palmdale(LACR) on wed or Fri but with the conversion (0.97) I would have to get at least a 14.43 to be corrected to 13.99. And how dusty that track is it might be really hard to do so. Other than that next California Speedway track day is Aug 13th

Its a 50 shot dry. I got a 14.4 at like 95 with I/H/E MArcy original Stage-1 cams/CT, valve spgs ret. and back seats removed back in Nov. It can be done if you are a great driver. Good driver 14.7.

If you read up on my previous posts the FC car with I/H/E/TB/CG/clutch/4.06's/DR got only 15.0 at like 88 on drag radials.= not good driver
