Personally I don't see this new promo working for GM for example:
1.The cars will have up to 100 miles on the odometer when returned within 24 hours.
2.Limited availability for the model,color and options for the cars,truck and SUV's being "loaned out".
3.Abusing the vehicles during the overnight test driving.
I am sure there are limits as to how many times you can test drive a car overnight from the dealerships otherwise why bother buying a new car at all right?
