I have thought about doing this for a while. Finally got to HomeDepot for the 30 degree bend. feels good so far. i cant wait to hit the highway. but the SVT snorkel i cut up, probably will get removed as it doesnt really cover the whole filter, just a little bit of it.

I'd personally run it to the headlight opening for track days... but thas not a horrible place for it either

It would probably be more effective by trying to isolate it from the engine bay heat with some sort of shroud around the entire filter with the only opening at the front of the cone. Looks great though!

Now the header can make the intake air nice and warm

chris, why dont you fiberglass a shroud that encloses the filter, and since you are thinking of getting rid of the snorkel, take where the top upper radiator plastic cover was, make a panel that redirects air to the intake on that, so that your total funnel size is waaay bigger than the cone, it's heatshielded, and you have something no one else has.
