Only info I have is out of the recent issue of CAR.

GM is trying to force SAAB to use the Impreza platform on their next car. (which I think would be cool if it works... I like SAABS, just got rid of my 2000 9-3)
But, both Subaru and SAAB don't like the decision, as Suby doesn't want to give up the tech., and SAAB's engine layout/design isn't compatible.

Anyone have any more info?

Last I looked the General owns ~20% of FHI
"Tokyo - General Motors announced today that it would purchase the shares that Nissan Motor Company LTD. and its group affiliates hold in Fuji Heavy Industries as part of its plan to take a 20% interest in the maker of Subaru cars" - This was from 2000 or so.
And yes, SAAB is 100% owned by GM. GM cannot "make" FHI (Soob) do anything, but they can leverage this technology for that etc.
SAAB's next car is scheduled to have FHI 2.0 turbo boxer engine sitting in the engine bay.
I cannot comment on the use of the Impreza platform in the SAAB. From my viewpoint, the Impreza is about the same size as the current 9-5 so, I don't see GM using the platform in the sub-compact 9-2. But hell you never know.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">The 9-2 is going to be built along side of the Impreza, same thing. The glass is even the same.
