New SMART \'forfour\' model for the US
This could give Toyota's Scion a run for their money.
SMART SHOWS U.S.-BOUND CAR
The first pictures of the Smart forfour have been released by the Eurobrand and its DaimlerChrysler parent. The new vehicle, the most extensive cooperation between DC and Mitsubishi in Europe thus far, is a four-door model that will be sold in the United States (though built in Brazil) beginning in mid-decade. The new forfour (lowercase theirs) has safety-cell construction, a two-tone exterior and will be offered with a choice of three gas-powered or two diesel engines when it goes on sale in Europe in spring 2004. More details will doubtless be revealed at the Frankfurt auto show this September.
